Chapter 1: The Cyclone Insurance Policy
Dorothy lived on the Kansas Prairie. She was born there and grew up there. Dorothy is 19 years old; she just graduated from high school. Her first job was working for one of the companies that moved to the Kansas City area. It attracted many tech companies on account of its investment in high-speed broadband. She was a simple country girl, and due to a tragic, Adverse Childhood Experience1, she was raised by her Auntie Em and her uncle, Henry. Henry was stern, always solemn, and had a history of dark moods.
Her family was farmers. More precisely, they worked in the accounting department for Archer Daniels Midland (ADM). They lived in a modest house with four walls, a floor, and a front door painted green. It had blazingly-fast broadband. They led a simple life.
