Well, thank you for continuing to do the good work that you are doing, for the good of humanity and the goal of reducing suffering for others.

You are my connection to a well of information about the “behind the scenes “ in psychiatry.

MY goal is to read (and chuckle) your articles everyday. So if I can’t get the chance to read it, your email stays in my inbox UNREAD until I get the chance to read it! So missing one day out of a million gives me the chance to catch up!

You are a brilliant writer.

I love this. I think it's hard to be honest about ego driven intentions but I think they can be valuable in the mental health space because so many people struggle to find courage and the ego is great for that. I also second that hanging out with your kids is a better use of time! If nothing else, the next time you sit and write and it just flows out, you'll have a little more appreciation for the ease and flow of it. Go forth, and indulge in missing one this day!

Thank you for noticing! We all have an ego, and sometimes it doesn’t work out…and that is part of the process.

Hold it...wait...is this the same Dr. Owen Muir who a scant few weeks ago sloughed off his misbegotten commitment to daily publication? And then posted two in one day? Daily is an "insane thing," as you say, particularly when you have kids and a career. Yes, it can result in terrific reader engagement, which disappears the moment you stop doing it every day! So now, what's the point? Give yourself a break today.
