Many of us were in promising local bands. Few, I would imagine, have the kind of prescience to be in promising local bands that are unintentional satire as it relates to their later “life’s work.” I write a lot about brain stimulation in psychiatry. In college, where I chose to do no premedical studies, I was in a rock band. The first album I personally ever recorded was also with this band. It is now available on the internet…not because it’s amazing, but because it’s unintentionally hilarious.

Give it a listen. It includes the first song I ever wrote called, In another nod to my future in neuroscience, melatonin. I am not saying it’s amazing, but I am vouching for it being funny. (This record was before I was singing, so only one track has me on lead vocals. If you want to hear my singing voice you will have to listen to my other music).
