Healthcare marketing is hard. It’s regulated to a level that would make airlines shiver. For example, in the State of New York, patient testimonials—a mainstay of marketing in any other field of endeavor—are not just forbidden but illegal, if they lack specific, verifiable data.

So, it’s hard. We need to tell humans hope for their health problems exist! And, at the same time, we have to comply with complex regulations and ethical standards to uphold for the protection of the vulnerable.

One organization that helps support marketing professionals is SWAAY, and I was thrilled to be nominated for their blog of the year award. Spoiler alert, I won.
