Revisiting Martin Shkreli vs. Mark Cuban
A pharma provocateur thinks he’s God’s Gift…but which one is it?
In the early days of this newsletter, I’d spend a few days on a very convoluted piece of writing. This is one such piece that follows. Most of the hot takes I’ve shared have aged fairly well. This is a huge exception. The piece is written as satire, but, in retrospect, I may end up agreeing with the satire as reality, which is probably what I get for being snarky. I under-appreciate the savvy behind Mark Cuban’s Cost Plus Drugs. I underappreciated the strategy. And, to be clear, I have become a customer myself. Mark might end up a real, actual Saint in the bedeviled hellscape of American Healthcare. Martin has failed to distinguish himself of late ($DJT, anyone?). This serves as an official apology to Mr. Cuban and the MCCPDC team and also a chance to revisit what is a funny piece of writing.
I was Wrong. This is still worth a read….
