Oh, dear readers. The things we do for academic publishing! The Frontier Psychiatrists is a daily-ish health-themed newsletter. It’s not listed on Google Scholar as a peer-reviewed journal. There is no peer review process beyond my very opinionated readers. Sometimes, this includes my wife. There is also more…comedy…in this writing, than would be typical in a science journal.
However, one of the things this newsletter isn’t? A systematic review of all of the data on a given topic. That, it turns out, is a lot of work. If I am going to do that, it’s going to be published in a reputable journal. I’ve written about academic publishing and how scammy it can be previously.
