AMAZING NEWS: DEA KICKS CAN DOWN ROAD Regarding Telemedicine Prescribing of Controlled Substances.
This newsletter is taking all the credit.
I did it.
I complained in a newsletter and single-handedly—along with the other 38,369 public commenters that I am ignoring as a matter of farcical best practice—got the following extension of controlled substance prescribing by telehealth! I absolutely predicted this…cause I’m super special and important. I’ve been an honorable-mention change maker since 2016. Much like the DEA, I’ve been almost getting it right for years now. In the case of this telemedicine thing, there may have been some larger public health issues.
In other words, if a patient and a practitioner have established a telemedicine relationship on or before November 11, 2023, the same telemedicine flexibilities that have governed the relationship to that point are permitted until November 11, 2024.
Nothing says success like this extension of uncertainty into the near future!

That's right, we did it, or I did it all by myself. Cerebral prescribed too many stimulants. I get it. But now…There is a temporary rule!
